A clients old health service information directory required a modernized delivery approach. The client had initially partnered with a publicly funded development group, but wasn’t particularly pleased with the development timeline and results of their collaboration.
Ailm Consulting was initially asked to assess the current state of the project and to take charge of redirecting the outcome. As it became clear the expected outcomes would not be achieved, we provided the client with several alternative solutions. Since the commitments to project stakeholders were already long overdue, quick cost-effective solutions were required.
We quickly identified several rapid development alternatives that contained the required feature enhancements and some added functionality. Working closely with internal staff and stakeholders, we rapidly customized and deployed a responsive directory website with a back-end service management dashboard for providers.
Some of the more notable feature enhancements included:
- Responsive design for mobile compatibility
- Clean design and simple colour palette for audience accessibility
- Multi-faceted search based navigation with simple filtering by service type, organization, proximity, language, and modality
- Browser compliant location aware mapping to quickly identify services within a specific area
- Custom vendor service submission and approval process to minimize administrative overhead
Ailm Consulting also leveraged a managed hosting platform, and developed a service claims process, notification system, and custom learning materials to ensure a easy transition from previous infrastructure. Combined with an initial soft launch strategy and some internal staff training, this provided a smooth launch within a very short timeframe.
